Milford Schools Ohio Report Card Results

Yesterday, Ohio School Report Cards were released. Milford Schools "exceeded" or "significantly exceeded" standards in 4 of the 5 categories and "met standards" in one. The State of Ohio switched from letter grades to a star system this year and Milford earned:

  • 5 stars in "Gap Closing" and "Graduation" -- Milford High School has a 96.4% 4-year graduation rate and a 98.4% 5-year graduation rate
  • 4 stars in "Achievement" and "Progress"
  • 3 stars in "Early Literacy"
Although cumulative scores are not provided this year, the average of all scores would equate to approximately 4.5 stars.

Superintendent John Spieser said, "We are incredibly proud of the work our teachers, staff, and students have done as we continue to recover from the impact of the pandemic. Milford Schools is within two percentage points of where we were in 2018, prior to COVID. This is a result of a focused effort to remain in the classroom as much as possible over the last few years and the work being done with individual students to reduce learning loss." He continued, "While we have much to celebrate in terms of the good work happening in our classrooms each day, we also know we have continued room for improvement, especially as it relates to Early Literacy. We have put additional supports in our classrooms within the last year, including Really Great Reading. This program focuses on early literacy, a critical building block of lifelong learning. We'll be working as a leadership team to continue to discuss additional systems to support our students."
