Nothing better than learning in the great outdoors with some beautiful weather! ☀️

At Boyd Elementary, students tied into this year’s Camping theme by reading Camping with the President along the BES trail—joined by their very own “president,” Principal Espy! 🏕️📚

Meanwhile, at Meadowview, students celebrated Dot Day inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book. Thanks to trail signs posted with pages of the story, students enjoyed reading and learning surrounded by nature. 🌳

This isn’t just about volleyball—it’s about supporting youth mental health and spreading awareness in our community. Join Milford Athletics on Friday, September 20 for our annual Volley For a Cause Volleyball games!

The goal this year is to collect 500 items for Impacting Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing, and essential services to support healthier lives. We’re asking fans to bring donations to the game such as feminine products, diapers, and fragrance-free items to ensure comfort for recipients.

The evening will also feature Unified Cheer, a bake sale, raffle baskets, split-the-pot, and t-shirt sales—with all proceeds going directly to Impacting Tomorrow.

Come cheer on our Eagles, enjoy a fun night with the community, and help us reach this important goal.🦅

Yup, your eyes don’t deceive you! That really is our very own Assistant Director of Bands, Brandon Dittgen, walking the red carpet in Nashville, Tennessee!

Last night, Brandon was honored at the Country Music Awards as a Teacher of Excellence, one of just 30 teachers nationwide recognized for their incredible work as outstanding music educators.

The evening included a special performance by country music star Jon Pardi and a chance to sit alongside the talented duo Ryan and Rory!

At 8:46 a.m. on September 11, 2001, our country changed forever. This morning, we pause to remember the lives lost and to honor the countless heroes who rose in the midst of tragedy.

We will always carry forward the courage, resilience, and unity shown that day, and we remain committed to the values that bring us together as one nation.

Boyd E. Smith Elementary turned running into an art form on Friday at the annual Color Run. Students sprinted, jogged, and occasionally strategically strolled their way through clouds of color, proving that cardio is way more fun when your T-shirt doesn’t survive the day.

A big shout-out to our Boyd E. Smith Elementary - PTO for pulling off an event that had kids laughing, parents cheering, and everyone leaving a little brighter than they arrived (and maybe still finding hints of Friday on their socks).

Communications Survey

Every August, tens of thousands gather in the streets of Buñol, Spain, to throw tomatoes during the world-famous festival La Tomatina. While Milford Middle School did not import truckloads of produce, Spanish students in Ms. Updyke’s class brought the tradition to life, albeit in a much easier way to clean… and to learn!

Students took on new Spanish names, tossed paper “tomatoes,” and held full conversations en español—showcasing their skills as Effective Communicators and Purposeful Collaborators. Read more about their creative lesson here: https://www.milfordschools.org/article/2393733

From Milford to Broadway, Carnegie Hall, and back!

Last week, Roger Preston Smith, Broadway performer, choreographer, and proud Milford alum (MHS Class of 1968), returned to the famed Zamudio Theatre to see just how far the District’s performing arts have come. 🎭

After a personal tour of the building and stage, Roger met with students and our Theatre Director to share stories, advice, and inspiration from his career. He recently made his Carnegie Hall debut in Hello, Dolly! and we could not be prouder of this Milford Eagle. 🦅

Scotland is famous for bagpipes, castles, and now, a sold-out Milford High School murder mystery that made its mark at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Milford High School drama students traded the familiar halls of their auditorium for the cobblestone streets of Scotland this summer, performing an original student-written play on one of the world’s most iconic stages.
