Hot takes and cold ice cream made for one sweet day at Milford Middle School!

Yesterday, students in Mr. Huggins’ class joined their weekly “Hot Takes” debate, making the case for opinions like “Halloween is better than Christmas” and “Indoor volleyball is better than outdoor volleyball!”

These debates go hand in hand with Mr. Huggins’ own interviews with staff about their hot takes! The videos show students how to build an argument, support their opinions with evidence and respond to opposing viewpoints, skills they then put into practice in their classroom debates and writing.

Later, ScoopAble stopped by to celebrate Ms. McGrath’s sixth-grade Talon Time class for winning its fall flavor contest! Their creation, Ghost Graveyard, features chocolate ice cream packed with brownie pieces, marshmallows and crushed Oreos, plus marshmallow fluff and fudge swirls. Students got to taste their winning idea brought to life!

Want a scoop of their creativity? Stop by ScoopAble and try Ghost Graveyard for yourself!

A day so nice, Mulberry had to go outside twice!

Today, Mulberry Elementary students and staff soaked up the sunshine during a walk around the building for their Random Attendance Day (RAD) reward. It was also “Secret Identity” day for spirit week, so a few familiar faces were sporting some clever disguises!

Later, family members stopped by for Lunch on the Lawn, making the most of a beautiful day together!

ABC’s & PB&J’s! Our students at McCormick are learning their letters and their lessons one step at a time.

Our kindergarteners took their ABCs to the catwalk, strutting down the red carpet in handmade letter costumes while proudly sharing the sounds their assigned letters make.

Meanwhile, our fourth graders put their writing and sequencing skills to the test as Ms. Dettmer and Ms. Tillson followed their students’ directions exactly to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Let’s just say clear instructions matter when lunch is on the line!

From A to Z and step 1 to step 10, there was plenty of learning happening at McCormick!

Just a friendly shoutout to our incredible School Nutrition staff!

Yesterday, our team was busy preparing and serving Smart Mouth pizzas, fries, salads and more for our students at Milford Middle School. But their work didn’t stop there! Every September, we take a moment to say THANK YOU to our Mental Health Interventionists!

Our MHIs play an important role in supporting students across Milford Schools. From providing individual and small-group support to helping students navigate challenges, build coping skills and connect with additional resources, they are there when our students need someone in their corner.

Thank you to our Mental Health Interventionists for showing up for our Eagles each and every day. Your care and support make a lasting difference in our schools and in the lives of our students!

Before bringing The Shawshank Redemption to the stage, Mr. Derringer’s theatre students visited the Ohio State Reformatory, where the movie was filmed!

Students saw firsthand the conditions in which people lived at the former prison and learned about the harsh realities many experienced there. They’ll carry that history into their performances and their set, costume, sound and lighting designs.

Tickets are now on sale for Milford High School’s fall production of The Shawshank Redemption, running October 23–30: https://cur8.com/19491/project/141716
