Homelessness & McKinney-Vento Services
Milford Schools is committed to supporting students and families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or displacement. Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, eligible students have rights and protections that help ensure uninterrupted access to education and school services.
If your family is living in a temporary housing situation, sharing housing due to economic hardship, staying in a shelter, motel, vehicle, campground, or other temporary arrangement, you may qualify for support and services.
You and Your Children May Qualify for Support if You Are Living:
In a shelter or transitional housing program.
In a motel, hotel, or campground because you do not have another safe, stable place to stay.
In a car, park, public space, abandoned building, bus station, train station, or another place not intended for regular housing.
Temporarily with friends or family because you have lost your housing or are experiencing financial hardship.
