Milford Schools recently completed a comprehensive performance audit through the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office. The audit reviewed Milford’s operations and expenditures, comparing them to peer districts across Ohio.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility, we’re sharing these findings with our staff and community as we work together to strengthen our operations.
The audit examined five key areas — Staffing, Insurance, Transportation, Facilities, and Extracurriculars — and offered recommendations to strengthen efficiency and financial stability. While the Board of Education will review and evaluate all key areas outlined in the audit, some adjustments and reductions are already in motion as part of the District’s continued efforts to improve efficiency and long-term financial stability.

Big smiles and even bigger leadership moments in Ms. Parsley’s class! These students met with the high school principal, assistant principals, SRO, and superintendent to practice their communication skills and learn what real leaders do — listen, support, and make a positive impact.
As several Milford Schools are used as polling locations during elections, Milford Exempted Village School District will hold a remote learning day on Tuesday, November 4. This adjustment allows us to maintain instructional continuity for students while supporting our community’s voting process.

A meal is always better when shared with a friend!
Breakfast with Buddies officially launched this morning at Seipelt Elementary, welcoming 5th grade parents, guardians, caretakers, grandparents, and friends to enjoy a delicious breakfast together!
To make it extra special not only for the 5th graders but for all Seipelt breakfast eaters, our Nutrition Services team stepped it up a notch by serving eggs, sausage, biscuits, and festive treats like “pumpkin” tangerines, bananas with edible faces, spooky applesauce, cheesy strings, and more.
It was a scarily good morning to kick off this new tradition at Seipelt! 🍽️👻

Trading Through Time!
The Cincinnati Museum Center visited our 4th graders at Meadowview Elementary yesterday to kick off some hands-on trading fun! Students explored how Native Americans and early settlers exchanged goods, learning the value of items like chocolate, mirrors, and games that were once considered luxuries. They also discovered how beaver furs played an important role as a key trading resource!

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the Milford Board of Education selected six finalists for the superintendent position based on the recommendation of the Hamilton County Educational Service Center (HCESC). The candidates were identified through a comprehensive process guided by the leadership profile developed from staff and community feedback sessions facilitated by HCESC.
The first round of interviews will take place on November 12, conducted by a panel of Milford community members, staff, and stakeholder representatives. Second-round interviews with the Board will follow on November 19 and 20. After these rounds, the candidate pool will be narrowed to a small group of finalists who will advance to the final stage of the process—a “Meet the Candidates Night” on December 9, open to all staff and community members.

Using everyday materials like cocoa powder, petroleum jelly, and even popsicle sticks for that extra “bone” effect, students explored the layers of the skin, classified types of burns, and learned about the body’s healing process, including the importance of inflammation in recovery.

Earlier this month, Mr. Lutz’s kindergarten class at Meadowview went on a (not-so) treacherous leaf hunt through the jungle (the outdoor trail)! Students collected colorful leaves, discussed why some were crisp while others stayed soft, and wrapped up the adventure by cataloging their finds on a worksheet. Nature made for the perfect classroom!

Our friends from the City of Milford Fire & EMS stopped by to give students an up-close look at their life-saving gear and a special tour of their fire trucks and ambulances. Students got to climb aboard, explore the tools of the trade, and even practice staying low and crawling under the smoke like real firefighters!
We are so thankful for our local Fire & EMS team for keeping our community safe and teaching our youngest learners!

A friendly bus safety tip to all of our drivers out there: When those red lights are flashing and the stop arm swings out, it’s everyone’s cue to stop. Whether you’re behind the bus or coming from the opposite direction, please wait until the stop sign has fully retracted before driving again to help keep every child safe.
