Our students had an absolute blast competing in the Clermont County Special Olympics at the pool facility at New Richmond High School! Students from across the district came together for a full morning of swimming and having fun!
With families cheering them on every step (and splash!) of the way, our athletes showed off their skills, supported one another, and even took home some very special medals.
We’re so proud of our students and grateful for the incredible support from families and staff.

This week marked the return of our exciting Instrument Showcase! Band directors, staff, and a few Milford High School students visited our 5th graders across the district to introduce them to a variety of instruments. Students had the chance to try out the clarinet, trumpet, flute, and the always-popular trombone. Every instrument was carefully sanitized between each use, allowing for maximum fun!

Due to winter weather and unsafe travel conditions, Milford Exempted Village Schools will be closed Tuesday, December 2. The safety of our students, families, and staff is always our top priority, and current conditions do not allow for safe transportation.
All extended care programs, including Right at School, will also be canceled for the day.
MEVSD will continue to monitor weather conditions and will share any updates as needed. If additional communication is required, we will provide information through email, text, social media, and our website.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Stay safe!

Last week’s Halloween brought something truly special thanks to our Milford High School Sculpture and Drawing + Painting students!
With the guidance of their teacher, Mrs. Adrian Vance Hawk, these talented artists spent four weeks designing and building custom Halloween costumes for kids through the local nonprofit May We Help — an organization that creates one-of-a-kind devices and costumes for children with disabilities.
This year, the MHS team created a circus train–themed costume for a local family of seven children — one who uses a wheelchair and the others who ride in a wagon — turning them into a colorful, joyful circus on wheels! 🎪🚂
A huge shoutout to Olivia T., Ollie S., Elena S., Isabella R., Arrow W., Brynn W., and Dalilah E. for using their creativity, compassion, and teamwork to make Halloween extra magical for some very special kids.

Milford Schools recently completed a comprehensive performance audit through the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office. The audit reviewed Milford’s operations and expenditures, comparing them to peer districts across Ohio.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility, we’re sharing these findings with our staff and community as we work together to strengthen our operations.
The audit examined five key areas — Staffing, Insurance, Transportation, Facilities, and Extracurriculars — and offered recommendations to strengthen efficiency and financial stability. While the Board of Education will review and evaluate all key areas outlined in the audit, some adjustments and reductions are already in motion as part of the District’s continued efforts to improve efficiency and long-term financial stability.
You can find the full audit and additional information here:

Big smiles and even bigger leadership moments in Ms. Parsley’s class! These students met with the high school principal, assistant principals, SRO, and superintendent to practice their communication skills and learn what real leaders do — listen, support, and make a positive impact.

As several Milford Schools are used as polling locations during elections, Milford Exempted Village School District will hold a remote learning day on Tuesday, November 4. This adjustment allows us to maintain instructional continuity for students while supporting our community’s voting process.
Families are encouraged to reach out to their child’s school or teacher for additional details and expectations regarding assignments and participation for the day.

A meal is always better when shared with a friend!

Trading Through Time!
The Cincinnati Museum Center visited our 4th graders at Meadowview Elementary yesterday to kick off some hands-on trading fun! Students explored how Native Americans and early settlers exchanged goods, learning the value of items like chocolate, mirrors, and games that were once considered luxuries. They also discovered how beaver furs played an important role as a key trading resource!

On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the Milford Board of Education selected six finalists for the superintendent position based on the recommendation of the Hamilton County Educational Service Center (HCESC). The candidates were identified through a comprehensive process guided by the leadership profile developed from staff and community feedback sessions facilitated by HCESC.
The first round of interviews will take place on November 12, conducted by a panel of Milford community members, staff, and stakeholder representatives. Second-round interviews with the Board will follow on November 19 and 20. After these rounds, the candidate pool will be narrowed to a small group of finalists who will advance to the final stage of the process—a “Meet the Candidates Night” on December 9, open to all staff and community members.

⚠️ These students were so good, we’re providing a little caution about how scary good this learning was! The first few photos are blurred for our queasier families, but the results were too impressive not to share!
Students in Mrs. Moorehead’s and Mr. Rohlfs’ Honors Anatomy & Physiology classes at Milford High School created realistic “fake wounds” as part of their study of the integumentary system. Using everyday materials like cocoa powder, petroleum jelly, and even popsicle sticks for that extra “bone” effect, students explored the layers of the skin, classified types of burns, and learned about the body’s healing process, including the importance of inflammation in recovery.

Earlier this month, Mr. Lutz’s kindergarten class at Meadowview went on a (not-so) treacherous leaf hunt through the jungle (the outdoor trail)! Students collected colorful leaves, discussed why some were crisp while others stayed soft, and wrapped up the adventure by cataloging their finds on a worksheet. Nature made for the perfect classroom!

The Monster Mash was a graveyard smash! 🎶
Mulberry families and students brought their best costumes, danced, and braved spooky bounce courses together. Big thanks to our district leaders for stopping by to share some frightfully fun stories with our students!

Things really heated up yesterday at Pattison Park-1 in the best way possible!
Our friends from the City of Milford Fire & EMS stopped by to give students an up-close look at their life-saving gear and a special tour of their fire trucks and ambulances. Students got to climb aboard, explore the tools of the trade, and even practice staying low and crawling under the smoke like real firefighters!
We are so thankful for our local Fire & EMS team for keeping our community safe and teaching our youngest learners!

Good luck to our amazing Milford High School Band as they hit the road for Indianapolis! They’ll take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium this week for the Bands of America Super Regional Championship with their show, “The Cutting Edge.” We know they’ll be sharp as ever—go Eagles!
