Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting some of our incredible retirees and recognizing the years of dedication, compassion, and support they have poured into Milford students and families.
First up is Kristi Jones from McCormick Elementary! After 32 years of teaching, plus an additional year spent subbing with Milford Schools, Kristi is preparing for a retirement filled with travel, concerts, outdoor adventures, and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Kristi shared that teaching has always been a true passion for her and that one of the most important parts of education is making sure students know they are cared for and supported. “That connection will help them improve and succeed at everything,” she shared.
When reflecting on her favorite memories, Kristi recalled one of her favorite first grade traditions: a Thanksgiving performance featuring “What a Wonderful World,” where students held up watercolor paintings to match each lyric of the song. She shared that the performance always reminded her how lucky she was to be a teacher and the hope she has for every student.
Thank you, Kristi, for the decades of compassion, encouragement, and unforgettable memories you brought to Milford students and families. We hope retirement brings you many amazing adventures ahead!

As you enjoy time with loved ones today, we encourage you to also take a moment to visit a local cemetery or memorial, place a flag or flower, and pay your respects to those who gave everything for our freedoms.
