Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, students must be 5 years old by the first day of school, August 17, 2026, in order to be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment. This change aligns with updated state requirements.
All-Day Kindergarten
Kindergarten is a major milestone, and we’re thrilled to partner with our families as we soar into this educational journey together. Let’s make it a year to remember as your child begins their adventure in learning, growing, and becoming part of the Milford legacy.
We're excited to offer tuition-free all-day kindergarten to our families beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. This program provides additional social interaction, allowing children to problem solve and self-regulate in social situations. This can be found through purposeful play, recess, and United Arts (Art, P.E., Music, and Library).

Enrollment Information for 2026–2027 Kindergarten
With the transition to tuition-free all-day kindergarten, all students will receive a full day of learning.
If you have already enrolled your child for the 2026–2027 school year, no action is required. Your student will automatically be moved into the all-day program at their assigned school.
If your child has not yet been enrolled in all-day kindergarten, you can complete the process by following the enrollment steps at the link below.
Early Entrance to Kindergarten
In rare instances, young children born after the deadline of August 17 are advanced in academic skills, personal development, and emotional maturity. These children may be candidates for early entrance into kindergarten. Early entrance is a form of grade acceleration, so parents should consider how this decision will impact their child throughout the school experience into high school.
Parents interested in participating in the early entrance assessment process can click the button below and complete all steps in the Referral Form for Early Entrance to Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 School Year. All forms must be completed by the end of the day on March 31, 2026.

Right at School
Milford Schools partners with Right At School, a nationally recognized school enrichment provider, to offer before- and after-school care for Milford Schools families at Milford school buildings.
Please note that Right At School operates independently and is not supervised by Milford Exempted Village Schools.
Enrollment for the 2026-2027 Right At School program will open at a later date alongside additional details.

Kindergarten Round Up
Milford Schools will host Kindergarten Round-Up on July 31 at Mulberry Elementary School. This event is designed for all incoming kindergarten students across every Milford elementary building.
During Round-Up, staff will spend approximately one hour with each child to complete a series of readiness assessments, including vision and hearing, speech, fine motor skills, academic readiness, and social-emotional development. This time also provides families with the opportunity to meet their child’s principal and begin building a connection with their school.
Families will be asked to register for a designated time slot in advance, with additional sign-up opportunities available prior to the sessions. Make-up options will be offered for families who are unable to attend their scheduled time.
