Milford Leader Takes the Next Step: Paul Daniels Named Superintendent of New Richmond Schools

At Milford Schools, we believe that when you invest in people, great things happen. Our Portrait of a Staff member commitment is more than words — it’s a promise to cultivate educators who are innovative, collaborative, and student-centered. We take immense pride in developing leaders who not only shape the future of our students but go on to lead beyond our district.

It is with great pride—and a touch of bittersweetness—that we share the news that Chief Academic Officer Paul Daniels has been appointed as the next Superintendent of New Richmond Exempted Village School District, pending board approval, effective with the 2025–2026 school year.

For the past eight years, Paul has been a vital part of our Milford leadership team. As a visionary educator and champion of growth, he has helped bring the Portrait of a Staff Member to life—supporting the superintendent and Board of Education through a full policy rewrite, measuring and monitoring the Portrait of an Eagle through thoughtful classroom visits, and consistently exemplifying servant leadership along the way. He will continue to serve as Chief Academic Officer through the end of the school year and assist with a smooth transition.

“Throughout his career in diverse educational settings, Paul has worked with a wide range of students and staff, always remaining positive, enthusiastic, and deeply committed to student success — a mindset that led him from his start in Milford as Director of Secondary Curriculum to his promotion as Chief Academic Officer,” said Superintendent John Spieser. “During this time, I not only came to know Paul professionally, but also as a valued friend.”

Paul’s leadership is grounded in presence — showing up, listening closely, and building real connections. He believes strong leadership begins with being present, whether in meetings, hallway conversations, or his early morning walks through the buildings, where he quietly checks in, offers encouragement, and stays attuned to the rhythm of each day.

Paul shared in his message to Milford staff, “Those morning visits hold a special place in my heart — the quiet anticipation of a new day, the shared moments of preparation, and the collective effort to smooth out the little bumps that allow our students to thrive.”

Paul’s promotion is not just a personal milestone — it’s a reflection of the environment we’ve created together at Milford, where leadership is nurtured and growth is celebrated. He will always be part of the Milford family, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact of a leader we helped grow.

Milford Schools will begin the process of determining how best to move forward with responsibilities previously held by the Chief Academic Officer. More details will be shared as they become available.

Please join us in congratulating Paul Daniels on this exciting new opportunity. We are grateful for his time in Milford and wish him continued success in this next chapter.
