Milford Schools has always been committed to supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. From athletics and extracurricular activities to fine arts and student organizations, these opportunities play an important role in helping students develop leadership skills, build relationships, and discover their passions.
As Milford Schools continues to invest in these opportunities, the District is implementing a new leadership structure designed to strengthen support for athletics, extracurricular activities, and student engagement across grades 7–12.
Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, Milford Schools will implement a collaborative leadership model that brings together athletics, extracurricular programs, and student activities under a team of experienced educational leaders.

Throughout my career as a coach and assistant principal, I have been passionate about helping students reach their full potential. I look forward to supporting student success across all extracurricular programs and helping create meaningful opportunities that allow every student to grow, connect, and thrive."
As Josh Kauffman transitions into a curriculum-focused leadership position within Milford Schools, he will help support the implementation of the District's new extracurricular leadership structure. Kauffman will provide guidance and continuity throughout the transition to help ensure a seamless experience for students, staff, and families.
"I am excited to begin this next chapter focused on curriculum and instruction while helping support a smooth transition into this new leadership structure. I have every confidence that Christy will bring tremendous leadership, energy, and commitment to this role. Her dedication to students has always been evident, and I know she will continue to put the needs of our student programs first while helping them grow and succeed."
This restructuring is expected to generate cost savings for the District while continuing to provide strong support for student-athletes, extracurricular participants, coaches, advisors, and families. By aligning leadership responsibilities and creating a collaborative team approach, Milford Schools is able to enhance support for students while remaining committed to fiscal responsibility.
