At Milford Schools, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we take every threat seriously.

Recently, several school districts across our region have experienced threats that led to evacuations, lockdowns, and significant disruptions to the school day. While many of these incidents ultimately were proven not to be credible, each one requires an immediate response and thorough investigation. These actions disrupt learning, create fear, and place unnecessary strain on emergency responders.

Milford Schools works closely with the Miami Township Police Department, Milford Police Department, and our dedicated School Resource Officers to investigate every report and maintain a safe learning environment. Regardless of intent, threats or harmful messages will result in school discipline and may carry serious legal consequences.

In many cases, threats like these originate outside the school district or even outside the state and are broader patterns that impact multiple schools at once. Regardless of where the threat begins, every report is treated with urgency and taken seriously to ensure the safety of our students.

We ask every family to take a moment today to speak with your student about the importance of responsible communication and looking out for one another. If you see or hear something concerning, please report it immediately to law enforcement and allow trained professionals to investigate. For emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency concerns, please contact the Miami Township Police Department at 513-248-3721 or Milford Police Department at (513) 248-5084.

Together, we can keep our schools safe for every child.
