Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) Program
If your child is currently approved for free or reduced-price meals through Milford Schools, they are automatically eligible for a special Ohio program called Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT)—also known as SUN Bucks.
This benefit helps families buy groceries during the summer when school meals are not available. No application is needed for students already approved for free or reduced meals.
How It Works
Families will receive $120 per eligible child either on their existing Ohio Direction Card or on a new benefit card mailed to their home. These funds can be used at most grocery stores, farmers markets, and other approved retailers. Benefits will begin arriving by early July and must be used within 122 days of being issued.
If you receive more than $120 per eligible child, do not use the extra benefits. Please contact the Summer EBT Helpline at 1-866-244-0071 (option 1) to confirm or correct the amount. If your address has changed this year, be sure to update it with your school district or benefit agency (such as SNAP, Medicaid, or OWF) to ensure your card arrives on time. If you do not wish to use the benefit, simply cut up and discard the card. Unused benefits will expire after 122 days.
Not Yet Approved for Free or Reduced-Price Meals?
If you believe your family may qualify but have not yet been approved for free or reduced-price meals this school year, you can still apply to receive Summer EBT.
Visit sebt.ohio.gov to apply. The portal closes on August 15, 2025. This site also includes FAQs and additional information about the program.
Free Summer Meals for All Children Under 18
