We have developed specific protocols for what happens if a student or teacher tests positive for COVID-19.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • If a student or staff member receives a positive COVID-19 test, they are required to: let the school know so contact tracing can begin, quarantine for at least 10 days, and in order to return to school must have written clearance of release of quarantine by Clermont County Public Health.

  • If a student or staff member* has been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, they are required to: notify the school and quarantine for at least 14 days regardless of positive or negative test result for COVID-19. (* School district staff are considered Critical Infrastructure Essential Employees by the CDC and therefore may not be required to quarantine for 14 days if they are not symptomatic and they follow CDC guidance. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.)

  • COVID-19 symptoms that the school will be isolating students for: fever above 100 degrees, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, and/or loss of taste or smell.

  • Close contact is defined as: being within 6 feet of a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes cumulative.
