Milford's Future Educators Top State Competition

Milford's Teaching Profession Students

Students in Milford High School’s Teaching Professions Academy participated in the Educators Rising Ohio's conference on March 15 and 16. They participated in professional development and competed in events aimed at demonstrating their skills and knowledge related to the teaching profession.

 The following students were recognized at the state level. Students who earned top 5 recognition will be moving on to nationals!

 Researching Learning Challenges, Brianna Deitrich, Lindsay Schaeffer, Sarah Ehrman, Shaila Peterson-1st Place

Creative Lecture, Layla Plair-2nd Place

Exploring Support Services Careers, Laura Pirtle-2nd Place

Children's Lit K-3, Simon Carter and Hannah Bauer-5th Place

Exploring Education Administration Careers, Shaila Peterson-5th Place

Exploring Education Non-Core, Madalyn Ridge, 5th Place

Inside Our Schools, Carley Mills, Lily Grieser, Makenzie Swing, Top 10

Lesson Planning and Delivery- STEM, Emily Mullen, Top 10

Job Interview - Jadyn Cox, Top 10

Milford also earned the Honors Chapter Distinction which is based on community service and overall chapter grade point average.

In addition, Milford High School was honored for raising $4,525 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and was recognized for the largest donations made in the Educators Rising Service Learning Project throughout the entire state of Ohio Milford High School Student Council also assisted in the Leukemia Society fundraiser with a $1000 donation. 

Kudos to MHS Teacher Professions instructor Jennifer Norsworthy and special thanks to Milford teachers Debbie Hendrixson who accompanied students to the conference and serves with Mrs. Norsworthy as the co-advisor for TPA.
