Although school buildings are currently closed, we still value the mental and emotional well-being of our students. We recognize the burden an increasing number of closures, restrictions, and perceived scarcity of resources places upon families and children.

It is not uncommon for students to exhibit ongoing adjustment-related concerns when experiencing such drastic changes to their traditional routines. Some students may experience an increase in anxiety-related concerns, or experience emotional difficulties as a result of being separated from their peers and regular supports. Additionally, it is completely normal for both parents and children to feel scared.

We are all currently dealing with an event for which there is no precedent, and uncertainty about the future only tends to further compound our worries and fears. As a result, we would like to inform you that we are still offering mental health services to our students, as well as professional consultation to all parents and families in the community.

Mental health support and therapy will be offered in the form of teletherapy services for students K-12, if deemed appropriate by your building’s assigned mental health provider. Appropriate consent and treatment forms are still required prior to initiating mental health services, but are not required for phone consultation. In the coming days, we will be sharing additional information and resources detailing ways in which you can support your student(s) at home during the closure.

If you are interested in speaking with your building’s assigned mental health provider, click here for their contact information. Please note, the contact information for our mental health staff is not to be used in the event of a crisis or emergency. If you need emergency assistance, please contact the 24 hour Clermont County Crisis Hotline at 513-528-7283 where you will immediately be connected with an emergency mental health provider.

We are dedicated to both student and community wellness. We look forward to continuing to serve you, and we look forward to working through this together.
