Milford Exempted Village Schools is asking for community input in their search for the district’s next superintendent. Milford’s current superintendent, Dr. Robert Farrell, is retiring.

After reviewing the credentials of 16 applicants, the Milford Board of Education narrowed the field to five candidates who were interviewed this week. The following two candidates are finalists: Nancy House, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Milford School District and Jennifer Penczarski, Superintendent of Kenton City Schools.

On Saturday, May 14, the Board will conduct a second round of interviews with the finalists, give each a tour of the district and host a community open house. This informal meet and greet with the candidates is planned for May 14, from 1-2 p.m. at Milford High School. The community is encouraged to come out and meet the candidates and share their feedback with the Board.

Assisting the Board in the superintendent’s search is Steve Horton from the Ohio School Boards Association. Horton has led focus groups of staff, the business community, and community members and shared this feedback with the Board to help them define major issues facing the district; personal and professional attributes important for the next superintendent; and unique qualities of the community and school district.

The Milford Exempted Village Schools Board expects to have a permanent superintendent appointed by August 1, 2016.
