Seipelt teachers Kristen Horner and Amy Watts believe strongly in kindness.

“We believe in the idea that there is never enough kindness in the world and that kindness is free and can change the world so we try and spread it,” Mrs. Horner said.

The duo decided to start a club for kids at Seipelt called “Kids with Capes” with a mission to spread kindness. They were hoping for interest from at least 20 students, but we were pleasantly surprised when 62 students (from grades Kindergarten through 6th) wanted to join.

“Kids with Capes” meets monthly after school and one Saturday every quarter. So far, they have made Valentine’s Day cards for Miami Township police, firefighters, and paramedics and made cards of encouragement for students who are testing next month. Their upcoming projects include making snack/meal-on-the-go bags for the Ronald McDonald House, helping with the Clermont County Spring Litter Clean-up, and beautifying the school.

“We all already coming up with new ideas for next year so if you ever hear about volunteer opportunities, please let us know and ‘Kids with Capes’ would love to help,” Mrs. Horner shared.
