Success Academy Moving to Preschool Building

Our Success Academy is currently located in modular units behind the Junior High. These modular units are not conducive to learning. We will be moving Success Academy to the top floor of the Milford Preschool building, located at 1039 State Route 28. Our Extended Day program is also housed at the Preschool.

The Success Academy is one of Milford High School’s academic teams that specializes in offering high school students a smaller academic environment with greater teacher-student interaction and individualized learning. Chief among the Success Academy’s mission is to get seniors who may be off-track graduated on time. The Success Academy re-engages these students in a blended-learning environment, preparing them for post-secondary success and meaningful participation in their community.

Moving the Success Academy students and staff members out of the modular units and into the Preschool building during Fall Break means there will be minimal disruption. The move will begin Friday, October 16 and conclude Friday, October 23. Success Academy students and staff will work remotely while their learning space is being prepared for them at the Preschool building. The first day Success Academy students will learn in the Preschool building will be Monday, October 26.

The second floor of the Preschool Building is not used by the Preschool or Extended Day. Previously, the second floor of the building housed students from the Clermont County Educational Service Center. Students placed in that program typically had significant behavioral and developmental needs. Students attending Success Academy do not demonstrate any behavioral challenges, but rather have found the traditional school setting challenging as it relates to their academic needs. At the Success Academy, students work closely with staff in a very collaborative and productive manner.

At the Preschool Building, the Success Academy students will be separate from students in the Preschool and Extended Day programs. The Success Academy will have its own entrance, and will access shared areas such as the restrooms and the cafeteria at separate times. Restroom breaks will be scheduled and supervised, and breakfast and lunch will be scheduled to occur separate from the Preschool students.

We are excited about this move and the positive effect it will have on the students and staff at the Success Academy.
