1:1 Program

Posted on: April 12, 2016

Dear Incoming 7th Grade parents,

Milford Exempted Village School District will implement a 1:1 Digital Learning Program beginning with every student in Grade 7 for the 2016-2017 school year.  The 1:1 Program consists of an annual technology payment through school fees of $100/ year for 3 years towards Chromebook ownership.  After three annual payments, the student will own the Chromebook.   The payment will cover the shared cost of the device, charger, always-on case, district technology fee, Google Education license, and a 3-year warranty and accidental damage policy.  The Chromebook model will be the Acer C740.

All parents and students should plan to attend the Chromebook orientation during Meet the Team Night on Monday, August 22, 2016.

If a student would like to bring their own device (BYOD) and NOT purchase a Chromebook through school fees, the device needs to come with the following minimum specifications and will need to be registered with Milford Schools by completing the form linked above.  There will be a $10 District technology fee towards online curriculum subscriptions accessed.

BYOD Specifications

  • Chrome Browser

  • Chromebook with 4 GB RAM 16 GB SSD

  • Screen size is at least 10.1”

  • Updated Anti-virus software for Windows or Mac devices

  • Updated operating system for Windows or Mac devices

  • Protective case recommended

More information can be found on the MEVSD Technology Information Site.
