District 5th Graders Visit iSpace

On Friday, February 24, Boyd E. Smith 5th graders visited iSpace. Students simulated a lunar mission where they completed a variety of STEM activities.
Student engineers built a filter to keep oxygen levels safe and a zipline to allow the astronauts to get to the landing site safely. The student geologists studied rock and soil samples and the navigation team used data to chart safe landing zones for the spacecraft. The medical and life support student teams did experiments to observe reflex time and hydration in low gravity.
Here's what Mrs. Moore students said about the visit...
"It helped a lot with learning how to work with other students."
"It was fun and educational at the same time...not many things can do that!"
"My favorite field trip EVER!"
Thanks to the Milford Schools Foundation for their ongoing support to fund this awesome experiences for our fifth graders districtwide.
