All Milford Students Eat for Free
Posted on: September 4, 2020

We are happy to announce that the Ohio Department of Education, under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Services, has notified our district that 100 percent of students attending Milford Schools (both In-Person and Eagle Online) are eligible for free breakfast and lunch through December 31, 2020.
What this means is that all Milford students in grades Preschool through 12 will not be charged for meals they purchase at school. Eagle Online students who receive to-go meals will not be charged either. If you have pre-paid for your child's meals that balance will remain in your account until January 2021. Any meal charges for September 1 and after will be credited back to the child’s meal account. Due to the large number of students, it may take a while for this to happen.
However, in order to possibly extend this benefit past December 31, 2020, we ask parents who think they may qualify for free and reduced meals to please fill out the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application (found here). If families were approved last year they need to apply again this year. This benefits the District and plays a part in qualifying Milford Schools for future extensions of free meals district-wide.
(If you received a Direct Certification letter in the mail from Milford Nutrition Services, you do not need to apply. You will need to contact the Nutrition office if you have any children who were not listed on the letter.)
Eagle Online students need to first register to receive meals by calling (513) 576-2290 or (513) 576-4160. Packages of frozen meals for seven days will be available for pickup at Milford High School on Fridays between 7:45 and 8:15 a.m.
