The mission statement of the Milford Exempted Village School District reads:
"The mission of the Milford Exempted Village School District, in partnership with its community, is to provide an education of the highest quality, inspiring and empowering each student to be a life-long learner and a contributing member of a diverse and ever-changing society.
The Milford Board of Education embodies this statement in every decision it makes. The Board makes its decisions based on information received and discussed in Superintendent committee meetings that are attended by two board members.

The Board relies on administrators to gather information related to each committee discussion to aid in its decision-making process.
Each board member is elected to the position. They spend countless hours researching material and reading information distributed through a variety of sources to keep up to date on educational issues.
Board Meetings:
The Milford Board of Education meets for its regular meeting one time every month. The meeting is set on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. For 2008, the meetings will take place at a variety of locations of schools in the district.
The district created a Strategic Plan in 2001. It was evaluated for progress in 2003. Committee members, representing the community as well as the schools, re-visited and updated the plan in 2004. To review the plan, click on this link
