In November 2007, the community voted yes for a bond issue to pay for expansions and renovations of Milford High School. The collection of money for the bond issue will begin in January 2009. The bond issue will result in no increase in tax millage because the start of collection for this bond issue coincides with a millage drop on the 2001 bond issue.
The bond issue tax dollars can be used only for school construction and not for operational expenditures for the district. Bond issue funds and operating levy funds are completely different things and cannot be interchanged. Operating dollars cannot build new schools and bond issue dollars cannot pay for operating expenses.
